Could it be Time for the Celtics to Finally Bring Back…Isaiah Thomas?
The Celtics are in serious need of benching. We know that much for sure. But, could an old friend be the answer to that lack of scoring on the Celtics bench? You know who I’m talking about here. I’m talking about Isaiah Thomas, the King of the Fourth himself.

I.T. Would Be A Cheap Option
We’re not talking about backing up the brinks trucks here. Isaiah Thomas would come back to the Celtics on a cheap deal I would bet. The Celtics don’t want to break the bank for someone. They need the help. Why not bring in a cheap option and actually get someone that’s worth it? I.T., in this case, is worth it.
He Excelled Here In Boston
We know just how great Isaiah Thomas was in Boston. The man earned himself two All-star selections in 2016 and 2017. He was also named to the All-NBA Second team in 2017. The 5’9 point guard just needed a chance and the Celtics gave it to him. Look at the results that happened afterwards. He was a big part of the Celtics getting to the playoffs and continuously improve year after year. The man pretty much did it all!
He’s Played Under Brad Stevens’ System
I.T. has played for Brad Stevens in the past. That means that he’s familiar with the system that Stevens likes to run in Boston. Brad got the most out of Isaiah Thomas. He unlocked potential that the Kings and Suns never knew existed. In this case, Brad could help Isaiah obtain the mentality of being a key contributor off of the bench.
In Conclusion
The Celtics need a bench piece. Isaiah Thomas needs a place to play. Doesn’t this just make too much sense? Thomas knows he won’t be the guy anymore with this current Celtics roster. If that’s the case, contribute to the cause. This Celtics team is a piece or two away from being a serious title contender. Isaiah Thomas…could be one of those pieces. Let’s make it happen, Danny!
