College Football Week Seven Locks

Week seven of the college football slate is here and it is time to give you my locks for the week. This week I have three absolute locks that I am locking in right now ahead of the full slate on Saturday. I have done all of my research beforehand thanks to the help of our good friends over at Shocked Energy. Go to shockedenergy.com and use the code CGS21 or CGSN for ten percent off your order today. Now with that being said here are my three locks for week seven of college football.

Nebraska (-4.5) vs Minnesota

Nebraska is 3-4 this season, but they are a couple good bounces away from contending in the Big Ten this season. The Huskers have lost all four games by eight points or less. Losing by eight against Illinois, seven to Oklahoma, three to Michigan and to Michigan State as well. Nebraska has contended in every game this season and it is time for them to get a little bit of respect here. Adrian Martinez is a solid quarterback and needs some bounces to go his way.

They take on a Minnesota team that is depleted by injuries here. Minnesota is currently the second best rushing defense in the Big Ten, but they are that way due to their last couple of games against horrendous running teams. Nebraska is going to cause them plenty of issues here. The Huskers are 5-2 ATS this season and are easily the best 3-4 team in the country. The defense of Nebraska has been stellar as well and it is a big reason why they have covered in five out of the seven games this season.  Ride Nebraska -4.5 to the bank this week as this is a two unit play for me.

NC State -3 vs Boston College

NC State has a real chance to show how legitimate they are as a threat to win the Atlantic division of the ACC. The Wolfpack has struggled against Boston College in their past ten matchups. They are 3-6-1 ATS against the Eagles in their last ten matchups. I understand that the past history would lean you towards BC’s side. I am telling you though that I truly think NC State is going to win easily here. Giving three points is nothing as I see the Wolfpack winning by a touchdown.

Boston College is a run dominated team and NC State allows under 100 rushing yards a game. The Wolfpack defense is solid and I think Boston College’s offense is going to struggle to gain momentum at times in this game. Love the wolfpack here and I will lay the -3 with them this week.

Ole Miss vs Tennessee +125

The Tennessee Volunteers are my upset of the week that I am betting on this week. Ole Miss is coming off of an emotional high win at home against Arkansas and I don’t think they will be ready for this Tennessee team this week. Both teams have lethal offenses that can explode at any moment. This matchup is going to come down to what defense makes that one stop in a key spot. The Rebels defense struggled at times last week against Arkansas and I truly think they will struggle against Hendon Hooker and this Tennessee offense this week.

Both offenses average over 40 points per game. Their defenses struggle from time to time, but Tennessee’s has looked more impressive the last couple of weeks. Tennessee has jumped out to fast starts as of late as they have outscored their last six opponents 101-13 in the first quarter. Ole Miss will need to stop them early and often in my opinion if they want to win this game. We always love a good underdog at home and this week for me it is Tennessee at +125.
