Coach O Is Staying At LSU Until 2026!

What a year it’s been for Ed Orgeron and the LSU Tigers. First, they cap off an undefeated season and a National Championship run. Now, Coach Ed Orgeron, a.k.a. Coach O, is getting his big payday.

This Is Well Deserved

Orgeron has had quite the journey in football. He went from the University of Miami, to Ole Miss, to USC (twice), to LSU currently. That still leaves out his earlier days at McNeese State. He also had a brief stint later on in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints as a DL coach. Since Coach O took over for Les Miles in 2016, Orgeron is 40-9. That’s quite impressive. Look at what he did with LSU this year! He pretty much beat the snot out of whoever stood in the way. That’s a testament to Orgeron’s recruiting and preparation for every opponent week in and week out.

He’s Had Rough Stints In The Past

Orgeron has been a part of losing programs in the past. At Ole Miss, he couldn’t buy a win. He finished several seasons 3-8, 3-9, etc. It was a rough three seasons for Orgeron at Ole Miss before his firing after the 2007 season. Even after a 6-2 stint at USC in 2013, Orgeron was passed up for Steve Sarkisian. His rough past had led him to this point.

In Conclusion

Coach O is getting the recognition he deserves. He has proven he can build a National Championship team. Nobody wanted to mess with LSU this year. They were the best team in college football all season long. Now, we get to keep hearing that great Coach O voice until 2026. Roll the tape!
