Chris Paul is Already Expected to Miss Extended Time… Shocker

After sitting out of the Rockets second game this season against the Kings last night, it is now being reported by Marc Stein that Chris Paul is expected to be sidelined for at least a month due to a knee injury. I’m being honest when I say I’m not surprised one bit by this news.

CP3 has played more than 65 games a season just six times during his 13-year career. That makes it only 46% of the time that Chris Paul has been able to stay on the court consistently. Is this the most overrated point guard of our generation? Sure, he’s a very uniquely skilled basketball player, but a lot of people have made him out to be some sort of Messiah to the point guard position and I won’t stand for it. He can’t stay on the court, he can’t seem to be satisfied anywhere he is unless he’s winning (usually his fault if he isn’t) and he can’t make it out of the second round of the playoffs to save his life.

This is not the guy I would want running my team. I’d rather have Patrick Beverly as my point guard because at least I know he’ll show up every night. Chris Paul can’t seem to do that at all, which is a damn shame given his talent. Minus LeBron, he’s starting to become just as washed up as the rest of the banana boat crew. Also, he stole Avery Bradley’s All-Defensive team spot last year and I’m still very angry about it.
