Checking Back In On The Celtics

So let me get this straight, the Boston Celtics have the best record in the NBA more the a quarter of the way through? That has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? The Celtics are 22-4, and have continued to play well, even after their long winning streak was snapped against the Heat the night before Thanksgiving. They are currently on a Four game winning streak, with a game in San Antonio tonight against the Spurs.

During this current run the Celtics have going on, the defense hasn’t been as stout as it was during the winning streak, but they are still playing well on the defensive end and usually bring it on the defensive end every single night. What is really driving them now is their offense is starting to find its rhythm. You can tell these guys are really starting to mesh well together, in my opinion that will be what can keep them in games with teams like Golden State and Cleveland who can pour in buckets. Last years team could not score at an elite level once they got into the conference finals, I believe this years team will be different.

This team is so much fun to watch, I don’t think I have ever been more interested and more infatuated with the potential and just overall game to game action this team has going on. Jayson Tatum is going to be an absolute star in this league, he is already showing the signs of a guy who can score 20 a night in the league. Jaylon has absolutely taken a step in year Two, improving on much of his game on offense, he still has some ways to go in my opinion but he’s on the right track. What can I really say about Al Horford and Kyrie Irving, they just do what they do night in and night out. Teams are having trouble with them every night, and when they are on the floor together they do really whatever they want.

Kyrie Irving is a bona fide star. The Celtics have now shown that the streak wasn’t just a month of good basketball, they are a legitimate good team and are here to stay. The Celtics are only going to improve and get better every night they play together. The rest of the NBA should be put on the notice, Celtics got next.
