Chase Winovich Better Than Ever Since a Hernia
So turns out the most fun player on the Patriots (more on that in a second) may have played with a Hernia and had surgery in February?

In a piece by the Boston Globe’s Stan Grossfeld detailing Winovich offeason, it casually mentions this surgery among the other zany things the 25 year old has been up to this offeason.

Chase is Really Good Everyone
This all comes after one of the best seasons for an edge rusher a Patriots player has ever had.
Since Belichick arrived in New England, the only other player to have 5.5 sacks and 10 qb hits in a season as a rookie is Chandler Jones. You know, one of the edge rushers listed on the All Decade team and one on track for a Hall-of-Fame career (over the last 8 seasons he leads the NFL in sacks and forced fumbles).
The NFL has unveiled its All-Decade Team for the 2010s. Tom Brady was one of eight unanimous selections. Other Patriots to make the cut:
Rob Gronkowski
Logan Mankins
Chandler Jones
Darrelle Revis
Stephen Gostkowski
Codarrelle PattersonCoaches: Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll

Chase is Really Fun Everyone
More importantly than being good at football, Winovich seems like a great guy. He donated 100 masks to first responders to the pandemic, raised money for charity, and calls Tom Bray Dad. He seems like a less goofy and more zany Gronk type of unique character.
Finally, he also has a youtube channel where you can see Wino (great nickname!) fully unleashed.
With Chase fully healthy, doing his yoga/canoeing/eating tons of chocolate chip pancakes to get ready for the season, he may be poised for a breakout. A healthy and happy Wino is a win for all, especially Patriots fans, who could use one right about now.
