Breathe In… and Out. Celtics make Eastern Conference Finals

The Boston Celtics are moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals where they will play against the Jimmy Butler led Miami Heat. Looking forward to this series but lets first look back on the Raptors series and Game 7.

Raptors Series/Game 7

First off, I just have to get this out of the way. What on Earth was going on with the officiating in this series? At the end of Game 6, Kemba got fouled, they didn’t call it and then reported in the post-game report it should’ve been a foul. I hate the post-game report. Don’t have to tell us twice; we knew it was a missed call, and the NBA wanted to go to Game 7. We knew. That was just one example. You had the “War on Theis.” Poor guy could not catch a break at all. No matter what he did on defense, it seemed like he was getting called for a foul. I’m pretty sure he fouled out of Game 7.  At first, I didn’t want to be the one to complain about the refs, but it was seriously some of the craziest and most unbelievable officiating I have ever witnessed. Truly. I was blown away at some of the calls/no-calls. I’m still shocked about it.

We knew going into the series that it was going to be a battle. After the first two games, things looked up, then Game 3 happened. The last-second game-winner by OG Anunoby gave the Raptors the momentum swing they needed. 3-0 is a lot different than 2-1, and that proved to be right with this series. That momentum ultimately stretched this series to seven games. The Celtics looked great at times, but also looked suspect at other times. I’ve been saying this for weeks, and it feels corny to say, but when this team shows up, they are the best team in the league hands down. It would be wrong not to mention our Lord and Savior, Marcus Smart. Series MVP. He is such a dog. Big shots, steals, defensive lockups. I mean, he does it all. There would be no ECF without him.

Eastern Conference Finals

The Conference Finals is going to be no walk in the park. The Heat are led by a HUNGRY Jimmy Butler, a pissed off Jimmy Butler. This man is out for blood, and he’s rallying the whole team with him. Herro has been shooting lights out, and the veteran leadership the Heat have is no joke either. Iguodala, Crowder, Dragić are all playing well, and with a young gun like Bam, they are the complete package. I’m nervous about this series. The Cs match up well, but a game could get out of hand quickly. Hopefully, Hayward is back because they need his scoring. They need to make sure to hit their shots because a couple of bad possessions could turn into a crazy run for the Heat. The Celtics cant afford to have empty possessions as they did with Toronto. This is going to be a great series, and I cannot wait.
