Welcome to the first edition of the College Basketball Daily Gambling Report. My name is Chris Jones and I will be helping all of you each and every day with the college basketball slate of games. Today we have 36 college basketball games that are taking place. So everyday instead of breaking down every single college basketball game, I am going to give you my gambling report for the slate of games. I will give you picks every single day based on the slate.
For example today I have some Home Underdogs that I will give out. I also have a over/under part which I will give you some games that I love the over and some that I love the under in. Next we will talk about favorites that I like for the slate of games. Finally, I will give you my parlay of the day. A lot of moving pieces here in my first tidbit, however here is today’s CBB daily gambling report.
Home Dogs
Today we will start off with the home dogs. So Home Dogs are underdogs that are at home that I love today. I have three of them that I will give to you, plus two honorable mentions. Here are today’s daily report’s home dogs for Tuesday January 18th 2022.
Honorable Mentions:
Vanderbilt +6.5 (ML +225)
Miami +2.5 (ML +120)
#1: East Carolina +3.5 -110 (ML +130)
The East Carolina Pirates are the first home dog that I like tonight. East Carolina have won seven out of their last ten and are 10-0 at home this season. They are set to take on a UCF team that got embarrassed on the road on Saturday by South Florida. UCF is not a good road team and in their three road losses they have lost by a combined 17.6 points. East Carolina is led by sophomore guard Tristen Newton who averages 17.3 points per game to go along with 5.2 assists per game as well. The Pirates just upset Memphis over the weekend and they have the group to be able to upset UCF at home tonight as well. East Carolina covers easily and sprinkle the money line.
#2: Fordham +8 -110 (ML +290)
Fordham is home taking on Richmond tonight. The Rams have won six out of their last ten, while Richmond has won seven out of their last ten. Fordham is 5-1 at home this season and have looked great at the Rose Gym this season. Fordham is 7-3 against the spread in their last ten games. They are also 4-2 against the spread at home this season. The trends look real good for Fordham in this matchup. The Rams are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games as home underdogs. Fordham is also 5-1 in their last six games as an underdog. Look for the Rams to cover the eight points tonight. Money line is a huge low risk high reward situation as well.
#3: Northern Illinois +5.5 -110 (ML +225)
The Northern Illinois Huskies are hosting Bowling Green tonight. The Huskies are 6-4 against the spread in their last ten games and are 2-0 against the spread at home this season. Northern Illinois is on a two game winning streak, while Bowling Green is on a two game losing skid. Bowling Green is 1-5 on the road this season and with the losing skid currently happening this is a good spot for Northern Illinois to win at home. Huskies are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five games against a team with a losing home record. Northern Illinois +5.5 is the play in this one, the money line is fantastic value given the team on a winning streak is at plus money.
Lovin The Favorites
Lovin the Favorites is where I talk about favorites that I love for the slate of games today. Today I have three favorites that I love and with that being said here are my three favorites that I love.
#1: Manhattan -1.5 -110
The Manhattan Jaspers are ready to take the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference by storm. This team at home tonight against Niagara. Niagara is 2-5 on the road this season, yet Manhattan is only a 1.5 point favorite in this one. Manhattan is 4-1 at home this season and should be giving up a lot more points than they currently are. The Jaspers are led by guard Jose Perez who could easily be one of the best players in the MAAC. Trend to watch out for in this matchup is that Manhattan is 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 games following a win. Ride the Jaspers tonight as they are my first favorite that I am lovin on tonight.
#2: Wisconsin -2 -110
The Wisconsin Badgers tonight are on the road against Northwestern. Wisconsin is a two point favorite against a team that they are 7-3 against in their last ten meetings with the Badgers winning the last six of these meetings as well. The Badgers are a threat in the Big Ten this season as they are led by their dynamic back court duo of Jonathan Davis and Brad Davison. This Wisconsin team is much better than Northwestern. The Badgers are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games as road favorites. They are also 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games as well. Ride the Badgers -2 tonight to the promise land.
#3: Iona -2 -110
Rick Pitino has this Iona Gael team ready for the NCAA tournament again this season. Iona tonight is a two point favorite on the road against Monmouth. The Gaels have won eight out of their last ten games, while Monmouth has won six out of their last ten games. These are two of the best teams in the MAAC going at one another. I like Iona in this one because they have big wins this season and I think that carries over to them being able to win as a road favorite tonight. They are 12-5-1 against the spread in their last eighteen games as a favorite. Ride Iona to get the job done tonight as they will win and cover the two point spread against Monmouth.
Feeling The Over/Riding The Under
This is simple and easy. I have games that I haven’t talked about yet and I tell you if I am feeling the over or riding the under for the game.
Baylor vs West Virginia (138)
A Big 12 matchup that we all want to watch. Baylor is coming off of two straight losses, while West Virginia is coming off an embarrassing loss at Kansas over the weekend. These two teams are very good defensively as Baylor is ranked 9th in the country in defensive rating, while West Virginia is tied for 48th in the country in defensive ratings. These two defenses are going to show up in this one. That is why I am riding the under 138 in this one.
Butler vs UCONN (126.5)
This Big East matchup between Butler and UCONN will be a doozy. For this one I am feeling the over 126.5. In Butler’s last seven games as a road underdog, the over is 5-2. For UCONN in their last seven as a home favorite, the over is 6-1 in those games. These two teams will put up points in this one take the over in this one.
Florida Gulf Coast vs Stetson (138)
This Atlantic Sun matchup will be a very entertaining battle. For this one I am riding the under 138 in this one. Florida Gulf Coast unders in their last 41 games against a team with a winning home record is 28-12-1. Stetson unders are 5-1 in their last six games as a home underdog. Ride the under in this one as both offenses will struggle.
