Carmelo Anthony’s Legacy Has Officially Hit Rock Bottom

Carmelo Anthony arguably had his worst season as a professional basketball player this year with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Career lows in minutes, field goal percentage, and points per game have a lot of basketball fans questioning if he has anything left in the tank. There were a lot of moments this season where he looked like he was just completely checked out. Even towards the end of his tenure with New York, we saw similar signs of Melo looking like he might be done. But yesterday, I think his career officially hit rock bottom, and all it took was one Instagram post by what looks like a fan account with 10K followers:

Kyle Korver, better than Carmelo Anthony. Kyle. Korver. If you were to say this to me 5 years ago, I would have laughed in your face. But now? Now this isn’t crazy at all. As a matter of fact, I can honestly say I would have rather had Kyle Korver on my team than Carmelo Anthony this season. That’s how bad Carmelo Anthony was. Nothing against Korver and his career, but it’s hard to argue outside of this year that he’s a better player than Melo.

The best part about this? This stupid fan account got Melo so rattled that he felt the need to comment on this post FOUR TIMES. How pathetic? The fact that he felt the need to argue for himself against Kyle fucking Korver makes me feel like he might know how bad he really was this year.

I used to love Melo when he was on the Nuggets. This was a guy that used to be electric to watch early in his career. He was a part of that stacked ’03 draft that brought us stars like LeBron, D-Wade, and Bosh. He was a top 3 player of his era without a doubt. He may never reach an NBA Finals, but Melo has still had an impressive career. It’s sad to see it all go downhill like this.
