Can The Celtics “Flip The Switch”?

The regular season is almost over and the Boston Celtics still have not “flipped the switch”. Everyone had such high hopes for this team that went to the Eastern Conference Finals last season. The younger players on the Celtics stepped up and made some noise. However, this season has been somewhat of a disappointment. For the most part, the Celtics have not been fun to watch at all. The team has had problems since the beginning and they still haven’t figure these problems out.

Kyrie Irving is arguably having the best season of his career, but he has had chemistry issues that hindered the team. If we are talking strictly playoff experience, Kyrie has it. Except for Kawhi Leonard, Irving is the only guy in the Eastern Conference that has had a big part in winning an NBA Championship. I believe that experience does matter.

Brad Stevens better have some secret weapon up his sleeve. Stevens needs to really start coaching this team and get them to realize that they are special. Maybe last years team did overachieve and just got hot at the right time. However, I think this team is capable of taking down the top dogs. Stevens is still one of the best coaches in basketball, and the playoffs allow him to draw up a game plan specifically designed to take down the Bucks, Raptors or 76ers.

Lock it in, the Celtics will play the Pacers in the first round of the playoffs. As of right now, the Celtics have home court advantage. That can change since the Celtics and the Pacers are tied in the standings and both have a few games left to play. Either way, I think the Celtics will take down the Pacers in the first round. If this happens, I would not call that flipping the switch.

Barring some crazy upset, the Celtics would then take on the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round. This is where we would love to see the Celtics flip this so-called switch. The Bucks will have home court advantage, and the team has also proven that they can beat the best teams in the league. Right now the Bucks have the best record in basketball and have only lost 6 games at home. This is where the Celtics would have to play their games and show the world what they are capable of.

So yes, the Celtics will flip the switch, and we will see it happen in the second round against the Bucks. The Bucks are a phenomenal team, but I have a feeling the Celtics can take down the regular season champions.
