Bruins Starting To Roll

The Boston Bruins have won three straight games and are beginning to find a rhythm. The Bruins defeated the Coyotes last night to earn their third win in a row. Over that stretch they’ve outscored opponents 12-7.

The Bruins lackluster offense has been a large problem for them in the early season, they’ve only scored 84 goals on the year and that puts them at 23rd in the league. They’ve been getting some stellar goaltending from the tandem of Rask and Halak and those two are the reason the Bruins are still in the playoff picture.

Over the past few games the top line of Marchand-Krejci-Pastrnak has begun to find its’ chemistry. Last night they factored into 3 of Boston’s 4 goals. The young guns line of Heinen-JFK-Donato accounted for the fourth goal. That line worked well together last night too and if the young guys and vets can find their strides at the same time the Bruins can start putting up some numbers.

With the team getting healthier the Bruins are starting to look more comfortable. McAvoy returned over the weekend and has looked great since he’s been in, he’s given the Bruins more stability on the back end and has been a dynamic puck mover. Krug’s offense is back on the uptick as he’s gathered 5 points in his last 5 games.

The Bruins are still missing Bergeron, Chara, Miller and DeBrusk sat out the other night after not feeling well. Although Chara is getting closer to returning both he and Bergeron were skating with non-contact jerseys on Tuesday. Chara will be re-evaluated this week and Bergeron should be looked at next week. If the Bruins are able to tread water while those two are out then they will be in a good spot when those two workhorses return.

The Bruins sit at fourth place in the Atlantic and hold the first wild card spot. They are only a couple points behind Buffalo and a handful or points behind the Leafs. They will look to continue their win streak against the Penguins on Friday night.
