BREAKING: Red Sox Add Doug Fister

Today the Red Sox add Veteran right hander Doug Fister off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels. The 33 year-old Right hander has a career record of 77-76 with a 3.60 ERA. Fister is a 2014 Cy Young Award winner but has struggled with the Angles Triple-A team this season resulting in him opting out of his contract and resulting in him being put on waivers. Fister will join the Red Sox major league club as soon as possible.

I think this is one of those moves that can result in a under the radar very huge move. During Fister’s entire career he has been labeled as a great club house guy and a very good leader, something this team is arguably lacking.

I’m not convinced he will be the difference maker but from what has been said about him and from seeing him pitch through his career, this guy is a competitor and battles every time he toes the rubber and that is the quickest way to get the Red Sox fans behind you. He was once one of the most underrated players in the league and maybe just maybe he can fill a void and add some depth to this injury riddled pitching staff. Hopefully, if we are lucky, to light a fire under this pitching staff and more importantly David Price. Lets hope this is one of those moves that turns out to be a huge steal for the Sox.
