Black and Gold, Black and Gold Jerseys

The gold is back, baby!

Gold Jerseys Leaked

Today on Twitter, Pete Blackburn posted a glimpse of the supposedly new third jerseys for the Boston Bruins. This is different than what we have seen over the last few seasons.

Hmm… what does this jersey remind you of? Does it bring back any memories? It sure does! The gold jersey with the rounded Spoked-B looks similar to the jerseys worn during the 2010 Winter Classic at Fenway Park. The Winter Classic jerseys were inspired by the 1948-1949 jerseys.

Initially, I had mixed feelings about bringing back the gold jersey. During my tenure as a Bruins fan, I had been used to seeing the black jerseys. Personally, I think the black jerseys are very slick and the color complements everyone. That being said, change is not always a bad thing, right?

I’d like to think of bringing the gold jerseys back as a transition into the future. Both the black and white jerseys with the “B” remind me of the great days of our beloved leaders, Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron. We all know I love my Bergeron and I’m so proud to rock his jersey. But, we are transitioning into the Charlie McAvoy and David Pastrnak era. And now would be a perfect time to introduce some “new” jerseys. Gold for some gold hardware, eh? (Yes, I know the Stanley Cup is silver).

Would I purchase this jersey for myself? Probably not, just because I prefer the black jerseys, but the look is cool!
