Baker Mayfield Burns Rex Ryan when Asked about Comments
Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns have stumbled out of the gate after being hyped up all offseason. They have lost two out of their first three games, only averaging 16.3 points per game despite having Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, and Odell Beckham Jr.
The team has faced a lot of criticism due to their subpar start. Of the many critics, former NFL coach Rex Ryan’s critique of the team has made headlines. Ryan called the previously mentioned Mayfield “overrated as hell”. Mayfield was asked about Ryan’s comments today, and he responded.
You have to love Mayfield for not taking any crap despite starting off poorly. The 2018 number one overall pick was a popular MVP pick coming into the season, and- just like those bettors- I doubt Mayfield was expecting such a sluggish start from himself and the team.
Either way Mayfield’s talent is undeniable and Ryan is just making headlines for ESPN. I still do not expect the Browns to be the team that everyone thought they were going to be, but you have to admire the swagger of Mayfield and this team.
