Are The Saints Making The Right Decision?
This Sunday, and beyond, the New Orleans Saints face a difficult problem. Quarterback Drew Brees has been ruled out with cracked ribs and a punctured lung. Currently, they have two backups on the roster, Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston. It was reported on Friday that Taysom Hill will get the start at quarterback, but is Sean Payton making the decision in starting Hill over Winston?
Jameis Winston
Obviously, filling in for Drew Brees is challenge of itself considering that majority of the passing records belong to Brees. Sean Payton announced that Jameis Winston won’t be involved in the New Orleans game plan for at least this Sunday. If you’ve had the chance to see New Orleans play this year, don’t buy into that. Sean Payton loves to utilize his quarterbacks and that should happen once again this Sunday for New Orleans. Now, will Winston be heavily used? Probably not. Winston in his short appearances this season, has appeared in two games, going 7-11, throwing for 75 yards, and no touchdowns or interceptions. He has been sacked twice. He also has seven rushes for -5 yards. Yes, Winston has rushed for negative yards this season. With how explosive the New Orleans offense can be, not giving Winston the starting nod is probably the right choice here.
Taysom Hill
The last time the Saints faced the Falcons, Taysom Hill did it all on Thanksgiving!

Taysom Hill is a man of many talents. Hands down, Hill is the most flexible player in the NFL. Now, he looks to lead New Orleans this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. As all football fans know, Atlanta is talented… in blowing leads. So, if Atlanta gets an early lead on Sunday, don’t count New Orleans out. Yes, Taysom Hill is not Drew Brees, but Hill can do it all. In his career, yes career, Hill is 10-18, 205 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. He has rushed 98 times for 538 yards and four touchdowns. Just for fun, he has 28 receptions, 312 yards and seven touchdowns. Hill has a chance to shine this weekend, and he will. The Atlanta defense isn’t great, and Hill has an opportunity to run up the score and show off why he the most flexible player in the NFL this weekend. After all, Hill will do fine with that loaded New Orleans offense.
