The Red Sox were FINALLY home today as they took on the Toronto Blue Jays. Before the game began, the whole day started with the presentation of their 2018 World Series rings.

The New England Patriots Stopped By
Boston is the city of champions in case you might have forgotten. The New England Patriots came to Fenway to celebrate their 6th Super Bowl title. Notable Patriots players in attendance were Julian Edelman, Stephon Gilmore, and recently retired Rob Gronkowski.

Sorry fans, Tom Brady was not in attendance. But, he made sure to let everyone know that Red Sox fans were in good hands.

Chris Sale Was Not Himself…Again
Once the game started, Chris Sale toed the rubber for the Red Sox. He had a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first inning. After that, it all went downhill. Sale lasted 4 innings while giving up 7 hits, 5 earned runs, with 3 strikeouts on the afternoon. He was not having hard balls hit against him. It just seemed to be one of those days where the Blue Jays just found every hole with weak groundballs. Sale’s average four seam fastball velocity was 91 mph, with the occasional 94 and 95 showing up. (Disclaimer: I’m still not worried about Chris Sale)
The Red Sox Still Had a Chance to Win The Game
The Red Sox were down 7-5 going into the bottom of the 9th inning. They had something going with a Dustin Pedroia single and Jackie Bradley Jr. walk. But two flyouts and a Mookie Betts strikeout on a 3-2 slider from Ken Giles ended any chance of a Red Sox win.

This was just another game where things did not go in favor of the Red Sox.
In Conclusion
A day that started so great ended with a poor result. The Red Sox will hopefully get back on the winning track soon. They are too talented to continue to be this bad. Tomorrow will be the day that everything turns around…right?!
