The Celtics NEED to Beat Golden State Saturday Night

Well, it’s time. It is time to see what this Boston Celtics team is made of physically and mentally. The Celtics are on a five game winning streak currently and they are taking on the defending champion Golden State Warriors.

The game itself is going to have a lot of exciting matchups to keep an eye on. You have the battle of the point guards in Stephen Curry vs. Kyrie Irving. Klay Thompson and Marcus Smart will be battling all night long. Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum will be going at it as well. The list goes on forever. But, this is a game the Celtics NEED to win.

Question(s) and Observations

The big question is whether or not Kyrie Irving will play after missing Wednesday night’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, due to having flu-like symptoms. Of course, Terry Rozier stepped into the starting point guard role and became “Scary Terry” once again.

26 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists is never a game to complain about. Imagine if “Scary Terry” could do this a little bit more consistently. Obviously, he would need to start more games, but that’s another story.

The funny thing is that the Celtics are one of the best opponents for the Warriors to play against. In the last three seasons with six games happening between the two franchises, each team has come away with three victories with five of them being single digit games. Pretty good stats if you’re a huge Celtics fan like myself!

Do the Celtics lack any confidence against the Warriors? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Bottom Line

Like I said before, the Celtics have won five in a row. This includes wins against bottom dweller teams like the Hawks and Cavaliers too. But, if the Celtics win on Saturday night, it could be a potential turning point in the season.

C’mon, it makes way too much sense. The seemingly struggling Celtics (even though they’re 30-18 currently) having their best game of the season and beat the team that has won three of the last four championships? It couldn’t BE anymore Boston than that.

Beat the Warriors Saturday night and then get ready for Super Bowl Sunday.
