Patrick Chung Indicted On Cocaine Possession Charge

The Patriots were set to take on the Carolina Panthers last night without any distractions. The starters were playing for the first time. We were going to see all of the defense together to get a glimpse of what they could do together. But, that was overshadowed by the news that came out earlier yesterday. Patriots safety Patrick Chung was indicted on a cocaine possession charge in New Hampshire. and it came out yesterday,

Now obviously, we don’t have all of the facts in this case yet. Apparently, a grand jury indicted him two weeks ago. The report is that Chung’s New Hampshire home got a call for an apparent break-in. Then, officers searched around and stumbled upon the cocaine. The Patriots made a comment about the incident. In true Patriot fashion, they said little about it and kept their focus on football.

Chung will have his arraignment in court on Wednesday in Laconia, New Hampshire, according to Adam Schefter.

From A Football Perspective

It would really stink to lose Chung if he goes away for any period of time. He’s been a huge part of the Patriots secondary. Obviously, he was coming back from his injury in the Super Bowl in February. It all seems like a sign that Chung is going to have a great 2019 season. Then of course, this has to happen. The one good thing is that Patrick Chung has nothing but support from his teammates.

In Conclusion

It is a tough situation to handle on all accounts. Chung is battling the legal system. Fans are wondering if he’ll be back on the field at any point in the near future. It’s all just a big mess. But, the Patriots won’t let this set them back. Two weeks from Sunday, the Patriots open up their title defense at home against the Steelers. That’s the main focus. For now, we all wish Patrick Chung the best with this situation. We can also remind him that Patriots nation is always behind him as well!
