How it started
Going into the new season the New York Rangers had a lot of pressure on them to perform and return to the playoffs! Truly, the pressure set in towards the end of last season. That was when James Dolan went full psycho mode and fired both president, John Davison, and general manager Jeff Gorton out of nowhere! While not surprise, I am still not a fan of this move, but it is what it is.
Where Are We Now
Fast forward to this season The Rangers have a new head coach, Gerard Gallant, and some new tough gritty players to even out all four of their lines! For example, look at players like Gooddrow, Reeves and others have been added. Not only do they even out the lines, they also make this team tougher and go along with their skilled players! The Rangers are 4-2-1 to start the year and have been playing some solid hockey!
Excited for what’s ahead
Igor Shesterkin has been a brick wall in the net and seems to be the heir apprentice to hank! We all know the skill set Fox has and he seems to be already building off his Norris trophy season. The thing that impressed me the most, through 7 games, is the way they are winning!
Defensively, play has been great! If you’re not on the New York Rangers bandwagon yet, now is the time to come aboard the train! The Rangers are fun and talented. They are a skilled team. Certainly are well coached and will likely be making a push to a playoff return. I can’t wait to watch this season unfold!
