Jaylen Brown Led the Way Against Golden State with a Heavy Heart

Just before the Celtics’ victory against the Warriors last night tipped off, Jaylen Brown posted a message to his late friend, Tevin Steede.

I understand my brother and I will miss you so much.. you were there with me from day 1, and I know you still are .. I know in my heart you found the peace you were looking for, and that’s all that matters 🙌🏾 rest easy my G !! I got your back I promise 🙏🏾

Steede passed away just a day before the Celtics big game on Thursday night. Brown wasn’t even sure if he was going to play, until the mother of his best friend convinced him to do so. He knew Steede would want him to go out there. After the game, he sent out this tweet, dedicating his performance to his best friend:

All I have to say is wow. The amout of guts and courage that it takes to not only play in a game after that, but play as well as Jaylen did, is incredible to me. He led the way for the Celtics with 22 points, and practically sparked their 18-0 run in the third quarter by himself with 11 of those points being his.

We already knew the talent was there, but there is also so much more that makes Jaylen a great player. Brown proved that last night with his performance.
