In what has been another dreadful season for the Buffalo Sabres, there is finally a bright spot. 2019 first round pick Dylan Cozens has not only won over his teammates, but the entire Sabres fanbase. In their most recent game against the New York Rangers, Cozens showed everyone he can do more than shooting and passing the puck. Known for his scoring ability, he’s not afraid to drop the gloves either. Here’s the fight against Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren and I gotta say, Dylan did pretty well.

The reason why I’m making a big deal because of a fight, this Sabres team doesn’t show any heart. I hate being negative but I’m being honest at the same time. When I’m watching them, there’s no energy from anyone on the team. I know for a fact I’m not the only Sabres fan that has the same feelings. This team shows no heart whatsoever. That’s why when Cozens got into a fight, it fired up not only me but the rest of the fanbase. He tried to provide a much needed spark and even though they lost, it was nice to see someone show some heart.
Sabres assistant captain Kyle Okposo was impressed by the fight and I’m sure the rest of his teammates were as well. Another reason to love Cozens, he said he wanted to get in a fight, so he can try to light a spark for this team.

This is what I love to see. I love someone who’s not afraid to try something new and attempt to provide his team with some much needed energy. I really hope more players will follow Cozens and show some fight. It looks like it’s going to be another rough season but showing some heart goes a long way. Cozens and the Sabres are back at it tonight for the first game in a three game series against the New York Islanders.
