Now that the Celtics season is sunsetting, I feel called to write some poetry in memoriam and with hope of what is to come.

For what was supposed to be such a promising season to be wrecked by COVID and injuries with such impunity is truly tragic.

But the Celtics, and we, the fans, persevere.

And now – without further adieu, the expressions of my heart in the form of the art that is Haiku.

Jayson Tatum

You mostly played well,

But COVID got you badly

True greatness awaits.

Jaylen Brown

An amazing start

All Star this season, but hurt

Still getting better

Smarf

Working your butt off

Strong emotional leader

Jack up less bad shots?

Robert Williams III

Dunked into my heart

Blocked out the negative vibes

Our beloved center

Kemba Walker

Might be washed by now

Trying your best to be good

Oh so expensive

Even Fournier

Vous pouvez marquer

Je pense que tu iras mieux

Une bonne signature?

Tristan Thompson

Not much to say Trist

You tried but Rob is better

Thanks for stopping by

Payton Pritchard

Fun to watch shoot balls

You made some good 3 pointers

Celts future 6th man

Nesmith

Improved all year long

Impressed with late season play

Useful floor spacer

Tacko Fall

My huge adult son

Watching you play is pure joy

Please never leave us

GrantWilliam

You are not good, sad!

At least you are very nice

Go play Catan please

Luke Kornet

Basketball was played

Saw you doing things out there

Good job doing stuff

Everyone else

I do not care much

About your Haikus, you bored

Me, so I don’t care
