Cam Jordan vs. Bill Belichick
Cam Jordan has a problem with Bill Belichick. First things first, technically Jordan didn’t actually say the word ‘cheater’, but if you read the quote, you know what he’s alluding to. And if you haven’t read the quote, luckily I’ve done the work for ya and put it right here:
Saints DE Cam Jordan on Bill Belichick

Bill Belichick owns so much space in the NFL’s collective head that it’s getting out of hand at this point.
I’m not going to give a history lesson here on Belichick’s checkered past. That’s for another article. Instead, I’ll simply ask Mr. Jordan this: what exactly are you referring to here? SpyGate is the only legitimate example of Belichick cheating in his Patriots tenure, but it surely can’t be that, right? Because that horse has been beaten dead 10 times over. We can’t be talking about DeflateGate because the Ideal Gas Law has already settled that situation. And any other alleged ‘cheating’ has all been hearsay or just over paranoid players/coaches feverishly trying to find excuses as to why the Patriots continue to dominate them year after year.
Why Would Cam Jordan Say This?
So the only explanation I can think of as to why Cam Jordan said this is to have a built in excuse if his team loses Sunday. That way he can deflect any criticism of himself or his team and chalk it up to Big Bad Bill cheating again. Maybe they can use the Mike Tomlin excuse and say his coaches headsets got bugged. He could go the Peyton Manning route and accuse the Pats of bugging their locker rooms like they were the CIA. Just giving you a few options Cam!
What I would tell Cam Jordan is this…instead of pointing the finger at Belichick, why don’t you take a look at your own coaching staff. Because while filming an opposing team from the wrong spot was against the NFL rules, giving bonuses for purposely injuring players on the opposing team is against human decency. And Cam can’t act like he doesn’t recall this because he was on the team in 2011 when Bounty Gate was still going on.
What do they stay about stones and glass houses?
Every single coach and team in the NFL does what they can to gain a competitive advantage. They all toe that line and, in some cases, go over it. I mean, Mike Tomlin literally put it foot on the field to mess up a punt return against his own team. But Bill Belichick is the only one who continuously get’s reminded of his past. And if that’s what you all need to do to make yourselves feel better, that’s fine. But 6 rings are still 6 rings.
At the end of the day, Cam Jordan’s comments mean nothing. He comes off like a bitter player who is jealous of another coaches success. Or maybe he’s coming to the realization that his team is going to be bad for the foreseeable future now that Brees is gone and he’s just lashing out. I get it. I just don’t think it’s smart to give bulletin board material to the greatest coach of all time and a team who loves playing with a chip on their shoulder. Good luck Sunday, Cam.
