Torey Krug Wants To Stay in Boston
Torey Krug is the latest Bruin to talk to host a virtual press conference.
Krug talked about being a representative alongside teammate Brandon Carlo for the NHLPA. He makes it clear that he’s getting updates frequently and some of them do make it to social media. He wants to make sure it is safe to resume play along with not ripping guys away from their family.
Torey Krug: “We’re very hopeful we can return to play”

Torey Krug on Zdeno Chara:
“He’s been one of the most influential people on my career especially in this town”
Says despite the height, they work together a lot and there’s a lot he’s learned from him.

I think anyone who has played with Chara would say the exact same thing. There are very few people who lead like him.
Scorey Krug did not become a nickname for a random reason. His offensive presence is one of a kind and will go down in Bruins’ history as an offensive defenseman.
Torey Krug says he’s always had the stigma of just being an offensive defenseman. Says he wants his legacy to be as a 200-foot player.

Nearly a year ago, Torey Krug leveled St. Louis Blues Rob Thomas in game one of the Stanley Cup Finals. Now they can’t build a statue for everyone, but I think it’s safe to say this would be the one erected for Krug.

Torey Krug on Robert Thomas hit:
“Biggest rush of adrenaline I’ve ever felt on the ice”
“Didn’t even think twice about my helmet being off in the moment”

The “elephant in the room” is Krug re-signing in Boston. He’s been here his entire career and has proven to be a vital asset to the team. All season long, fans have been tweeting “re-sign Krug” at the Bruins twitter account. Krug himself has mentioned taking a discount to stay.
When asked about wanting to stay in Boston, Krug had this to say:
Torey Krug on future:
“Very hopeful and as I’ve said all along, I wanna be part of this group and part of this locker room and part of this city and we love it”
“We named our dog Fenway. How much more Boston can it get?”
— Evan Marinofsky (@emarinofsky) April 28, 2020
He could’ve named his daughter Big Papi if he wanted to get more Boston.
All in All
In all seriousness, I do think that Krug will end up re-signing. I don’t think the front office is that foolish.
