The Warriors Need Kevin Durant to Win this Series

Kevin Durant was out for Game 1 of the NBA Finals and the Warriors had a difficult time finding a rhythm. Durant hasn’t even been cleared to practice and that’s something you don’t want to hear if you are a Warriors fan. The Warriors just came off a sweep in the Western Conference Finals but their run without Kevin Durant won’t last.

The Warriors need Kevin Durant. He can help this team easily in all categories. Outside of Steph Curry, no one on the Warriors stepped up. However, that wasn’t the case with the Raptors. Despite Kawhi Leonards struggles in game 1, he had other players around him step up. Pascal Siakam was taking advantage of the moment and absolutely dominated all game long. He finished with 32 points, shooting 14/17 from the field. Marc Gasol also showed this team why they traded for him at the trade deadline. He finished with 20 points, shooting 6/10 from the field.

Also, to mention, Drake might already be in the heads of the Warriors. The Rapper had brief conversations with both Draymond Green and Steph Curry. The only way the Warriors quiet the passionate Rapper is to put the ball in the hoop. However, the Warriors struggled doing that and Drake made sure they heard about it. Last series moto was no Durant, no problem. However, for this series, the Warriors are having a problem without him.

Durant will more than likely be out for Game 2 and that is a huge boost for the Raptors. The Raptors match-up with the Warriors better without Durant in the line-up. If the Raptors take advantage of Durant being out in Game 2 and pull out the win, I believe the Raptors will win the NBA Finals.
