The 2024 Trade Deadline has come and gone. Next is All-Star Weekend! Teams all across the NBA made trades to give them the extra push required to win the championship. Some of the highlights included Philadelphia acquiring shooter, Buddy Hield. The Knicks got two capable scorers as Detroit unloads what little talent they had left. The Mavericks had their eyes on two big men while off-loading former Celtic Grant Williams to Charlotte. All while the league leading Boston Celtics made two moves.

On February 7th, Boston dumped Lamar Stevens and two second-round picks for Xavier Tillman just three days after destroying his team by 40 points. Tillman is a young, athletic big man who will look to fill Boston’s spotty bench. Big X joins the Green Team averaging 6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on career high 20 minutes a game.

The Celtics last move of 2024 Trade Deadline came in exchange with the 76ers. Two more second-round picks were sent off to the city of brotherly love to get the hyper-athletic combo guard Jaden Springer. Drafted by Philly in 2021, Springer is still finding his legs in the NBA but Boston has hopes he can develop into a defensive stopper and a key bench unit player.

NBA All-Star Weekend approaches! The league best Boston Celtics will be represented fittingly by their two stars. Especially, Jaylen Brown who is taking place in the AT&T Slam Dunk contest as well as the All-Star game. The competition is fiery as Brown will dunk against the defending champion and a rookie sensation from Miami. As for the All-Star game, it’s Tatum and Brown representing the Boston Celtics and the Eastern Conference. There was an argument for most of the season that Boston’s entire starting lineup deserved an All-Star nod but injuries appeared.
