Steph Curry Would be an Awful GM

Last night, the rosters for this year’s NBA All-Star Game were released:

LeBron, who had the first pick, went with the obvious choice and took Kevin Durant. But my god how did Curry’s team end up being so bad? I would have gone with AD over Giannis all day with that second pick. And there’s no doubt that he took Klay with the first reserve pick instead of Russ. But the fact that LeBron winded up getting KD, AD, Boogie, Kyrie, and Westbrook on the same team just doesn’t make any sense to me. Curry’s team is fine and all, but LeBron’s is just so much better. I really hope that Steph isn’t intending on having a career in the front-office when he decides to hang it up because he’d be awful.

While having a bunch of guys that hate each other on one team is pretty funny (Kyrie & LeBron, Westbrook & KD), I kind of wish they weren’t. We already saw Westbrook play with Durant last year. I feel like it would make for a much better dynamic if they were going at one another on opposite teams. I’d much rather see Kyrie trying to cross up LeBron or Westbrook posterize KD than them throwing lobs to each other and shit like that. It would just make the game a lot better.

But even still, this is going to be fun to watch. Say what you want about it, but I always enjoy NBA All-Star weekend. It’s not the best all-star weekend in sports, but they have continued to improve it year in and year out. I like how they went with a draft this year to try and spice things up, even though it wasn’t televised for some stupid reason. Maybe they’ll learn from that for next year, but there’s no doubt the draft was a step in the right direction.

BTW, here’s what I would have gone with if I was drafting:
