The NHL Playoffs are here and the intensity for many teams is unreal as expected for playoff season. Unfortunately in the series between Toronto and Montreal, the start of it has brought forward a horrific incident. The accident itself has sent Hockey fans praying for John Tavares’ well-being.

Brutal Incident Sends Tavares to Hospital.

Maple Leafs captain John Tavares was taken off the ice on a stretcher after suffering a horrifying injury in his team’s Stanley Cup Playoff game yesterday against the Canadiens. During the first period, Tavares took a huge hit from Canadiens Ben Chiarot, and as he was falling to the ice, unintentionally collided with the knee of Corey Perry.

As you can see, Tavares tried to get back up but the hit was just too much. One of the most beautiful things however, was seeing the trainer, his teammates and Kyle Dubas immediately rushing to Tavares attention.

Update on his Status!

While Tavares was stretcher out of the Scotiabank Arena, Tavares game a thumbs up to the crowd which sent a positive sign after such a scary scene. As today rolls in, we are hearing finally from the Maple Leafs’ public relations team on his status!

The statement was well-received by many, which includes other teams in the NHL who are sending their support. Teams like the Washington Capitals, Colorado Avalanche and the Carolina Hurricanes.
