Hibernation is Over, The Bruins Are Back

For the first time in over 100 days, the Boston Bruins are playing a hockey game.  They’ll face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets in their only exhibition game before the Round Robin.

Things To Look For

There is a lot to look forward to in tonight’s game. One being, the absence of Columbus’ cannon. Some players are making their playoff debut this weekend and others are here to show those guys how it’s done.

Jack Studnicka

Studnicka is the future of the Bruins. Bruce Cassidy told the media today that, “Jack is clearly a better player than when he left here.”

Studnicka has a lot to offer the Bruins top six and could play an intricate roll in their postseason success. He had 49 points in 60 games down in Providence before their season was also canceled. His 2018-19 season was spent in the OHL with the Oshwa Generals and Niagra Ice Dogs.  80 points in 60 games is rather impressive, making his callup to Providence an easy one.

Top Line

No matter who you’re a fan of, the Bruins top line is fun to watch. The chemistry there is unmatchable and it’s hard for anyone to deny their skill.

Outside of the Top Six

The third line is going to be something to keep your eye on. The speed there is deadly. I could see Wagner swapping with Kuraly or flip-flopping with Bjork. There’s a lot of potential there.

Final Thoughts

There are a lot of people who put so much stock into exhibitions and others who take it for what it is, a meaningless warm up to shake the rust off. Don’t poke the bear.
