Chris Sale is making headlines again and maybe not for the best reasons.
The thirty year old pitcher has been dealing with elbow issues for a while now and more testing was ordered earlier this week. Everyone held their breath and kind of accepted that Tommy John surgery.
Except that wasn’t the case.
Chris Sale not expected to undergo Tommy John surgery at this point, source tells The Athletic.

The supposed diagnosis is a flexor strain. I take whatever Sale says with a grain of salt. At this point, he could say his name is Chris Sale and I’d be like yeah… sure it is. I get wanting to keep the cards close to your chest but the lack of transparency is a little infuriating.
He doesn’t need TJ but has halted his throwing program. I don’t know. I really don’t. It feels like a JOKE. We’re watching the Red Sox just sort of burn… It’s not fun. Something has to be done. He has to be in a lot of pain and I’m sure day to day tasks are getting harder.
Chris Sale has been such a dominant pitcher and then boom. Tommy John surgery is almost guaranteed for pitchers. If it’s not now, then it will be later this season or come winter.
