Blair’s Best Bets | Free NBA Picks

Welcome to a new segment here on CouchGuySports; Blair’s Best Bets; The Internet’s top spot for the best free NBA picks daily.

Each morning I will give you my top 3 NBA bets for FREE.

Let’s dive right into tonight’s action (February 8th)  –

Game 1: Dallas Mavericks @ Los Angeles Clippers

We have a very exciting matchup for our first pick of the night! As the 29-26 Dallas Mavericks travel to Los Angeles to face the 31-26 Clippers.

All-star point guard Kyrie Irving is expected to make his first appearance in Dallas blue tonight against the Clips.

Even without Luka on the court, I think this spread is much too high in favor of Los Angeles.

Sure, Dallas hasn’t had the chance to really find the chemistry after this blockbuster trade. But, I really can’t see them losing by double digits in their first outing together.

Injuries will play a huge factor in this matchup –

Dallas will be playing without Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Davis Bertans. Kyrie Irving and Markeiff Morris are both currently listed as probable for tonight’s action.

The Clippers on the other hand will be playing in full health, with the exception of John Wall who’s out indefinitely with an abdominal injury.

According to Lineups.com tonight’s projected lineups are as follows –

Dallas

PG – McKinley Wright IV

SG – Kyrie Irving

SF – Tim Hardaway JR.

PF – Christian Wood

C – Dwight Powell

Los Angeles

PG – Terrance Mann

SG – Paul George

SF – Kawhi Leonard

PF – Marcus Morris

C – Ivica Zubac

On paper, the Clippers clearly have the better starting lineup. But with Luka off the court and Wright at the 1, I think this gives Kyrie a lot of room to operate and show what he can bring to the team.

Best Free NBA Picks #1: Give me the new look Dallas Mavericks +8.5

Game 2: Minnesota Timberwolves @ Utah Jazz (-3.5)

Mike Conley passing the ball in his white Utah Jazz jersey

For our second game of the night, we have two pretty evenly matched teams facing off; as the 29-28 Minnesota Twolves take a trip to Utah to face the 27-28 Jazz

In the last 10 meetings between these two teams, they have split right down the middle with both teams winning 5 games a piece. With all 5 of Utah’s losses coming on their home court.

The public is looking for this trend to continue with 75% of bettors taking the road team tonight.

Looking at the injury reports –

The TWolves will still be without Austin Rivers due to a 3-game suspension. Kyle Anderson and Karl-Anthony Towns are also out.

Utah will be missing Micah Porter. Jarred Vanderbilt is listed as questionable.

We will need to keep an eye on the starting SF spot for Utah if Vanderbilt isn’t ready to go for game time their projected lineup will need to change.

Lineups.com has the current starting lineups as –

Utah

PG – Mike Conley

SG – Jordan Clarkson

SF – Jared Vanderbilt

PF – Lauri Markkanen

C – Kelly Olynyk

Minnesota

PG – D’Angelo Russell

SG – Anthony Edwards

SF – Kyle Anderson

PF – Jaden McDaniels

C – Rudy Gobert

Big man Rudy Gobert will certainly be someone to watch tonight as he faces off against his old team and a much smaller Kelly Olynyk. Even with this mismatch, I’m still leaning toward the Jazz being able to break this drought at home.

Best Free NBA Picks #2: Give me the Utah Jazz -3.5

Game 3: Indiana Pacers @ Miami Heat (-7)

Jimmy Butler and Miami teamates in red and white Heat jerseys

For our last pick of the night, we have the 25-30 Pacers coming to Miami to face the 29-25 Heat.

This matchup will truly be the tale of the two struggling teams. Miami has gone 1-4 against the spread over the last 5 games. The Pacers are doing even worse going 0-7 in their last handful of games on the road, and 3-9 against the spread over the last 12 games.

The Pacers will be playing at full health only missing Chris Duarte.

Miami was able to get off to a hot start this year but has been devasted by injury as of late.

For tonight’s action, they will be without; Kyle Lowry, Victor Oladipo, Duncan Robinson, Omer Yurtseven, and Nikola Jovic. Gabe Vincent and Orlando Robinson have been upgraded to probable.

Miami is still struggling to find a true starting lineup while dealing with so many sidelined stars.

For tonight the starting five is currently listed as –

PG – Gabe Vincent

SG- Tyler Herro

SF – Jimmy Butler

PF – Caleb Martin

C – Bam Adebayo

Indiana will be starting –

PG – Tyrese Haliburton

SG – Andrew Nembhard

SF – Buddy Hield

PF – Aaron Nesmith

C – Myles Turner

In my eyes the back court of Haliburton and Nembhard will not be enough to break the defensive mastery of Jimmy Buckets. Miami should be able to run away with this one.

Best Free NBA Picks #3: Give me the Miami Heat by double digits.
