Well, it’s been a rough week to say the least. Not only did the Patriots lose Super Bowl 52 as the favorites, but there have been a ton of reports about fighting amongst the coaches and players. So it’s safe to say it has been a disappointing end to the football season. But despite that, I think that Boston sports fans and especially Patriot fans need to realize that the sky isn’t falling.
Starting with the Patriots, they still have Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Both are still on the top of their game and they will be back next season. And let’s say hypothetically that they both retire next year, we still have witnessed the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL. Could you imagine being the Cleveland Browns? I mean they literally have not one a game since 2016. So if the worst was to happen next year, at least we can reminisce on what they have accomplish over the past 17 years.
As for the immediate future, Boston fans are luckier than other fans because we can vent about our loss through are other 3 incredible teams. Unlike other cities, Boston has 4 professional teams and unlike A LOT of cities; we have 4 really good professional teams. As we stand here today, the Boston Celtics are in 1st place in the Eastern Conference. They have a superstar in Kyrie Irving and two young studs with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. They are great now and will be great for the next 10 years. Then you have the Bruins, a team that has surpassed all expectations this season. They started out slow and a lot of people thought they were going to sell off. But over the last month and a half, the Bruins have been the best team in hockey and currently sit 2nd in their conference. Expect them to make some damage in the postseason this year. Finally, we have the Red Sox. Ya I know, they have failed miserably in the postseason the last two years. But, they have a new manager in Alex Cora and they still have a very good young core. They will be a postseason team once again this year and an entertaining team.
So remember Boston fans, this Super Bowl loss does hurt right now. But you should still be proud of what the Patriots did this year and what they have done over the past two decades. Plus, you have 3 really good teams to fall back on. And we don’t have the Cleveland Browns, that’s a major plus.
