Dan Gilbert wants to sell the Cleveland Cavaliers. (Via Stephen A. Smith – ESPN)

Man, oh man, just when you thought things couldn’t possibly get worse for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team can’t string together a win, everyone on the roster pretty much hates one another, and now the team might be up for sale. Stephen A. Smith isn’t exactly the most reliable source on the planet, but I would not be surprised to see this happen.
If there’s any truth to this report, one thing must be certain; LeBron James is definitely leaving the Cavaliers this summer. Either LeBron told Gilbert himself, or he sees the writing on the wall. Either way, the Cavs might be a shit show right now, but there’s no way he would sell if LeBron wasn’t jumping ship. You have the best player on the planet on YOUR team, why would you ever sell that?
But you can’t blame Gilbert for not wanting to go through another post-LeBron era. If it weren’t for him coming back, who knows where the Cavs would be right now. He practically saved them from years of potential embarrassment. I’m sure they would have strung something together eventually, but there’s no way in hell they get to the Finals without LeBron. I think the mere thought of him leaving scares the shit out of Gilbert, and for good reason.
