Start ’em Sit ’em: Week 17

The last week of the regular season is upon us and there are some big name players who aren’t playing to stay healthy for the playoffs.  This is can be a good thing and a bad thing for fantasy leagues, because it gives people who are good at team management a chance to beat someone who just drafted well and relied on their studs without depth.  This week I am going to tell you who to start and who to sit if you wanna do well in last week of fantasy football in 2017.

Start ’em

kirk-cousins-washington-redskins

Quarterback, Kirk Cousins: Cousins played well against a Denver defense that has been hit or miss as of late.  This week he gets the Giants who are dead last against fantasy quarterbacks.  Cousins should have a nice game this week.

Hyde

Running Back, Carlos Hyde:  Last time the 49ers and the Rams played Hyde had his best game of the season fantasy wise.  He ran for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns, also last time around the 9ers didn’t have an up and coming quarterback for the Rams to worry about.  With the Rams also resting starters for this game I think Hyde has a big day.

julio-jones

Wide Receiver, Julio Jones: I know this one is kind of a no brainer, but if you thought you’d get cheeky and sit Julio this week, DON’T.  Last year Julio had his 300 yard game against the Panthers and now Atlanta is in a position to win and secure their playoff spot, I expect them to rely on Julio a lot.  I expect a HUGE game from Jones this week.

Tight End, Greg Olsen:  Olsen has regained his significant role in the Panthers offense and in what I expect to be a high paced game Olsen will get a lot of targets.

Sit ’em

Quarterback, Dak Prescott: Prescott turned the ball over twice and honestly did not look good against a Seattle defense that hasn’t been itself lately.  Against the Eagles in Philly I’m not trusting the Cowboys quarterback in my line up.

leonard-fournettetyler-matakevich-e2f4f003f1404412

Running Back, Leonard Fournette:  The Jags rookie running back has been pretty good this season but in a game that doesn’t matter too much for the Jags I think Fournette doesn’t play his usual role.  Sure he will get playing time but with his lingering injuries I’m sure the Jaguars want their star running back healthy for the playoffs.

davante adams

Wide Receiver, Davante Adams:  Adams is still recovering from a concussion.  In a game that doesn’t change the fact that the Packers won’t make the playoffs, I expect them to sit Adams even if he clears the protocol.

cameron brate

Tight End, Cameron Brate/ O.J. Howard:  The Bucs tight ends have been decent fantasy options all year but going up against a Saints defense that hasn’t allowed more then 30 receiving yards to opposing tight ends doesn’t help that case.  They’re both on the bench this week.
