Ben Simmons is absolutely no question my new favorite player in the NBA. Unfortanetly he plays on a potential rival within the conference. But, just strictly admiring talent, man this kid can play. His transition to the league has been seamless, he’s a great rebounder and passer already. He hasn’t really developed much of a jump shot yet, but once he does, watch out NBA.

Ben is only 21 years old. He was drafted number one overall by the 76ers in the 2016 NBA draft. He missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury, so technically this is his rookie campaign. Averaging 17 points per game, 9 rebounds and 7 assists, he clearly has already shown that he belongs in the league. Ben is 6’10” and can dribble and pass the ball better than almost any guard in the easter conference, he is a matchup nightmare for just about everyone. It has been impressive to see a rookie come in and just be so fluid and really be able to control a NBA team already the way he has because they have made him handle the ball a ton early in the season. He is just about a shoe in for rookie of the year in my opinion, his impact has been to great on the Sixers.

Twelve games into the Sixers season, Philly fans must be ecstatic. Clearly he was well worth that number one selection, they have found themselves another corner-stone piece to build around with Joel Embid. His jump shot is still suspect, so he will  have to improve it or eventually the real defenders in this league will make it very difficult on him. He is only 21 and if he figures out how to shoot that jumper more consistently, the NBA will be in a ton of trouble. Ben Simmons is here to stay and the rest of the league should be put on notice immediately.
