Fantasy Football: Week 7 Studs and Duds

Studs

USATSI_9740318_168383805_lowresCarson Wentz, QB Philadelphia Eagles:  Wentz is a touchdown machine. He’s like that Miley Cirus song, Can’t Stop Won’t Stop throwing touchdowns, and the Refs have their hands in the air like they don’t care.  Get it? Sorry that was bad but I had to do it.

ezekiel-elliottEzekiel Elliot, RB Dallas Cowboys:  Nobody knows IF zeke is going to play each week because of all this suspension buzz,  but you do know WHEN zeke plays he is going to perform.  With 219 all purpose yards and 3 touchdowns I’m sure if you started zeke you won this weekend… unless you were the guy I was playing against… haha.

cooperAmari Cooper, WR Oakland Raiders:  Finally Cooper breaks out of his slump…. is what I’d like to say.  Going forward I still trust Cooper but the drops are still there and you could see it on Thursday night.  However if you’re like me you have been starting Cooper every week and hopefully his 11 catches 210 yards and 2 touchdowns earned you a nice easy win this week.

oj howardO.J. Howard, TE Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  Howard had his breakout game against the Bills and I don’t know how I feel about him going forward.  However with 6 catches for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns I’m sure he made a lot of fantasy owners happy (or really mad if you were facing him) in week 7.

Duds

cam-newton-121816-getty-ftr_lsgf5dkdgde016thjv4rw2yv4Cam Newton, QB Carolina Panthers:  Cam Newton looked horrendous turning the ball over 3 times in a tough loss to the Bears this past Sunday.  I’m kind of hesitant to say he will get back on track against Tampa because of how streaky Newton can be.

peterson-adrianAdrian Peterson, RB Arizona Cardinals: All the hype around AP’s first game on the Cardinals came crashing down this Sunday in a dominating win by the Rams.  Look for AP to get back on track next week where they will have to rely on him more with Palmer out of action.

nelsonJordy Nelson, WR Green Bay Packers: During the pregame action on Sunday I watched a depressing video of Nelson doing the football spin in the endzone that he usually does with Aaron Rodgers before every game, only he was alone.  That was the same with his fantasy performance the same day.  Without Rodgers Nelson was a non factor in the game against the Saints.

HooperAustin Hooper, TE Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons couldn’t get anything going against the Patriots defense on Sunday night, and that certainly didn’t help Hoopers fantasy production.  The tight end mustered up a measly 1 catch for 6 yards in the game where the Pats D dominated last years top scoring offense.
