Fantasy Football: Week 4 Studs and Duds

Wow what a week this was. Before getting into Fantasy I want to say my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the Las Vegas mass shooting.  There are some really sick and twisted individuals in this world.

Now on a lighter note,  how about that rookie QB Deshaun Watson!!!  I mentioned Watson last week in my Studs and Duds, and wow did he not disappoint.  I hope everyone who read my last article picked him up and started him because I surely did!  Okay enough boasting, lets get into my week 4 Studs and Duds.

Studs

Deshaun Watson, QB Houston Texans: 307 total yards, 5 total touchdowns, 33.7 fantasy points.  Do I need to say more?  As I said last week Watson will finish as a top 10 fantasy QB and is a must own in all leagues.

Jets Cowboys Football

Bilal Powell, RB New York Jets: Powell is currently the only fantasy player on the Jets I trust right now.  In week 4 he ran with a purpose.  With Matt Forte out, Powell is into RB2 consideration.  The Forte situation is worth monitoring, but with 163 yards and a touchdown Powell gets to be my week 4 Stud RB.

Devin Funchess, WR Carolina Panthers: Funchess took advantage of Greg Olsen’s absence in Carolina’s week 4 shocker over the Pats.  I think the Panthers offense is getting on the right track and Funchess should be a big part of that in the future.  He should be owned in at least all PPR leagues.

Cameron Brate, TE Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Brate had a pretty good week 4 with 80 yards and a TD.  He lands on my studs list because hes surprisingly not owned in a lot of leagues.  I think his role in the Tampa Bay offense means he deserves to be owned in all leagues and given low TE1 high TE2 fantasy relevance.

Duds

Matt Ryan, QB Atlanta Falcons: Matty Ice did not look great in week 4.  With 3 turnovers and only 8.5 fantasy points, Ryan deserves to be on the week 4 Duds list.  I honestly think he might be worth trying to trade for.  You can probably get him at a low cost (he’s the 21st ranked QB) and I think he turns this abysmal season around.

Isaiah Crowell, RB Cleveland Browns: Crowell has been terrible so far this year, much like the Browns.  This guy was drafted way too high and I wouldn’t consider dropping him just yet, but he is staying on my bench.

NFL: DEC 04 Bills at Raiders

Amari Cooper, WR Oakland Raiders: Cooper has 3 catches in the last 2 weeks and with Derek Carr out for a bit with a back injury, I think he is a high risk high reward play every week.  Cooper’s lack of consistency lands him a spot on the Duds list this week.

NFL: JAN 10 NFC Wild Card - Packers at Redskins

Jordan Reed, TE Washington Redskins: Reed has been battling injuries and hasn’t found the end zone yet this year.  After a crappy week 4 he deserves to be on the Duds list,  however I believe he turns his fantasy year around and isn’t worth dropping yet.
