After being shut down by basically every major shoe company for a deal, LaVar Ball and his son Lonzo decided to go their own route. Yesterday, Big Baller Brand (a company created by LaVar) introduced his son Lonzo’s first signature shoe:

Pictured above are the ZO2 Prime’s, which according to bigballerbrand.com, are available for pre-order at $500 and are “ushering in a new paradigm on and off the court”.
If you’ve read any of my LaVar blogs before, you know how I feel about this guy. This just continues to add on to my belief that he is actually crazy. $500? Who the hell does he think he is? Nobody in their right mind should spend that amount of money on a pair of shoes created by a basketball player who is unproven at the highest level. Nothing against Lonzo or the shoe itself, but $500? Come on, man. You aren’t Nike, Adidas, Under Armor, Gucci, Prada, or any of those other big brands.
Big Baller’s loose! If you can’t afford the ZO2’S, you’re NOT a BIG BALLER! 💰

So why the big price tag? Well I guess the shoe was only created for “big ballers”, according to LaVar. What a great slogan! I’m sure talking down to your audience will help sell shoes. Why send this kind of message to kids? Everything he says and does continues to piss me off and I hate it. I know I’m just a pawn to the game he’s playing, but I really can’t help but be annoyed by him. He thinks he is this big shot “baller” because his kids are better than he ever was at basketball and he barely made a few practice squads in the NFL. He wouldn’t be anything without them. The sad part is that he is going to continue to exploit his kids, who can’t help but sit and watch as their father continues to be an ass hole.
